My name is John R. Grau, and I have been an electrician for over 34 years. 28 years ago, I started my own electrical contracting firm: AFFORDABLE ELECTRIC INC. I consciously decided to be a small operation, with me as the only employee. I wanted to know my clients and their projects, and to be able to give them GREAT service. Over the years, I have found that some of the most common problems could have been easily avoided. This process of writing articles and creating videos was started to help the beginner avoid the need for expensive repairs. Simple repairs, such as changing a fuse, resetting a tripped circuit breaker, replacing a switch, or outlet, are all things that homeowners are typically capable of doing.
